Effective Date: Upon Signing Up (creating an account) on Dockside Muskoka Chef Services

Welcome to the Dockside Muskoka Chef Marketplace. By signing up as a chef or using our platform as a customer, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. GENERAL OVERVIEW

Dockside Muskoka Chef Services provides an exclusive platform where chefs can be promoted, and customers can hire private chefs and catering services. By joining, chefs pay a membership fee of $150 per year and agree to a 13% commission on all services booked through the platform. These Terms govern the use of the platform for both chefs and customers.

2. CHEF MEMBERSHIP AND COMMISSION

  • Membership Fee: A $150 annual fee is required for chefs to join and maintain an active profile on the marketplace.
  • Commission: Dockside Muskoka Chef Services retains 13% of the total fee for any booking made through the platform. This commission is deducted automatically from the total payment received from the customer.
  • Chef Responsibilities: By joining, chefs agree to maintain professional standards and provide accurate information about their services. All communication with clients must take place through the platform, as outlined in Section 5.

3. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customers must use the platform to book chefs and make payments. Customers agree not to engage in external communication with chefs regarding services booked through the marketplace, as outlined in Section 5.

4. PAYMENT AND TRANSACTIONS

  • Payments: All payments for chef services must be processed through the platform. No direct payments or transactions outside the platform are permitted.
  • Refunds: Any disputes or refund requests should be communicated through the platform, and all refunds are subject to review by Dockside Muskoka Chef Services.

5. COMMUNICATION RESTRICTIONS

  • No External Communication: All communication between chefs and customers must occur through the platform. External communication (e.g., direct email, phone, or social media contact) is strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in a chef or customer being banned from the platform or fined.
  • Penalties: Any attempt to bypass the platform’s communication and payment system, including soliciting clients or chefs outside of the platform, may result in immediate termination of the chef’s account or legal action.

6. CONTENT AND CONDUCT

  • Chefs are responsible for the content and accuracy of their profiles, including descriptions of their services. Inappropriate, false, or misleading content may lead to suspension or removal from the platform.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND TERMINATION

  • Chef Termination: Dockside Muskoka Chef Services reserves the right to terminate a chef’s membership at any time, with or without cause, for breach of these terms, failure to meet service standards, or negative customer reviews.
  • Customer Termination: If a customer repeatedly violates communication or payment terms, Dockside Muskoka Chef Services may ban the customer from further use of the platform.

8. LIABILITY

Dockside Muskoka Chef Services is not responsible for any damage or loss incurred by chefs or customers due to miscommunication, service quality, or failure to adhere to these terms. By using the platform, chefs and customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dockside Muskoka Chef Services from any claims or disputes arising from their use of the platform.

9. CHANGES TO TERMS

Dockside Muskoka Chef Services reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Any updates will be posted on the platform, and users are responsible for reviewing changes.
